Since May of 2004 Hungary has been the member of EU, some people think it is a big advantage some people think it is not, some other think it is a big chance for them to take advantage of the opportunities given by the EU. These people has knowledge of languages, they can succeed anywhere around the world (with English or German).

Nowadays you can use your language skills not only abroad, but inside the country as well. Foreign language skills are getting more and more important in the business and in the private life as well. The aim of Mediabo is to make possible for the students to learn or improve a language with very little time and money in the framework of different kinds of Online Education Programs.

Since its launch on January 7 2002 our first on-line education system, the MEP (Mediabo Education Program) has involved more and more students. This is an e-mail based study programme where students receive their course materials via e-mail, at a pace of their choice. If someone fills in the application form(s) for the selected course(s) and sends it to us, he or she will receive the first lesson on the first Monday of the following month. Students may ask any lesson related questions via e-mail, telephone and skype and will be provided answers within 12 hours.

Since 2002 our courses have been developed a lot. The main changes are listed in the following:

• In 2003 the German syllabus was completed besides the English one;
• In May 2004 audio materials called ’Lessons and Exercises” were completed (about 1800 minutes);
• At the beginning of 2005 the revision of our materials was done;
• In January 2006 we launched our office in Czech Republic;
• In April 2006 audio materials called ’Vocabulary’ was completed (another 1800 minutes), and since that time our audio materials can be ordered in MP3 format as well;
• In September 2006 we launched the Headset Language School, in the framework of which any language can be studied;
• In January 2007 we launched our office in Romania;
• On the 1st of February 2007 our strategic partner Educomm took over the whole e-learning business branch;
• On the 1st of May 2007 our new syllabus package will be launched – more details on Educomm’s homepage.
